Chivalry Isn't Dead,.. yet!

I was taught to treat people with a certain amount of respect, and that it will lead to more positive situations, but society as a whole has to take this into consideration, not just a small handful of people who wishes chivalry would regain the strength to awaken out of the deep sleep it's been in for too many years. The loss of manners and courteousness in modern civilization is truly a let down.

However the incident i'm about to tell you might change your perception about chivalry all together...read on..

So there I was, walking out of Studio 5, Naan Corner after buying some dinner. As I was walking towards my car, I noticed that the guy that had parked his car next to mine was also about to go out. What happens next is a definite "awww.." moment for all my fellow lady` readers..

As I got into my car, I obviously waited for him to reverse his car first, for the obvious reason of him getting into and starting his car up first. So anyway, as soon as the guy had fully reversed his car, I expected him to drive off straight away.. But instead, he reversed further back and gave me way to reverse my car first... Can you say "chivalry", ladies?
I say Yes!...totally!!

...Chivalry is not dead...It's Just on Life Support..;)

Keutamaan Sabar Menghadapi Cobaan

Since today is a Friday,i deem this blog entry worthy of a post that is related to religion...

To say that it has become a trend lately would be far too harsh, but basically that's where I'm sort of going. For the past few weeks, it seems like quite a number of my friends have lost their loved ones, gone through heartbreak, and also other family or relationship debacles. So to those of you who are reading and feel that what I'm saying may be hitting just too close to home, read on and from the bottom of my heart, I hope this sort of makes everything a little bit more bearable. Allah is fair and knows better, just take everything you're going through as a test to see just how strong you are. As the saying goes "Whatever that doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger".

untuk peringatan kita bersama..
sebenarnya article ini dipinjam dari seorang saudara..

KEUTAMAAN SABAR MENGHADAPI COBAAN

“Artinya : Dari Ummu Al-Ala’, dia berkata : “Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam menjengukku tatkala aku sedang sakit, lalu beliau berkata. ‘Gembirakanlah wahai Ummu Al-Ala’.

semuga kita semua sentiasa dirahmati, diredhai, diberkati Allah..
Amin Yarobbal Alamin..

Wallahu'alam..

1.1.11

The reason me typing out this entry is simply because its the 1st day of the new year and it seems only appropriate to do so..and being able to keep the date for this entry as 1111 is an added bonus...yeeehaaaa...

It's that time of year again, when we let go all the mistakes we made in the past and hope for the better outcome in the new year..
not everybody lists down their new year's resolutions tho', but for those who do,make a promise to themselves to keep to their resolutions and hopefully become better people..
But who are we kidding, out of those people who made resolutions only a handful of them keep up to it and the rest just forget about it months later and may be keep their resolutions for the next year..
that's why i don't make any resolutions..cos i'm very impulsive, and it's so Cliché..;))

Anyway,..Here's hoping that everyone has a great 2011 and may all you resolutions come true..

Why do women love shoes

A friend once told me, when you're sad and blue play a happy or dance music and sing your heart out or dance like crazy....that way you can forget about your problem for a while...but i have a better solution..
SHOES!!...we don't even have to buy them..just try them on will do the trick...
Don't believe me?...
read on....

Julie - They helped me overcome depression!

It's true! i broke up with a bf and when i fitted 4 inch high heels from display, it lifted up my mood! I bought 2 pairs, pumps and platforms -- enough to make me feel better.

Sue -

Shoes complete the outfit, you just can't wear the same shoes for each outfit! Shoes make all the difference to me.

Nikki -Empowerment

Whenever I have to make an important presentation to clients, I wear my favorite 4" high stiletto pumps. I get a sense or power and confidence when I am wearing them. I find I get the most compliments wearing them as well after.

Kimay - Shoes = Love!

At only 4'11" I must say heels, wowwww, they make me go coocoo! Not only because of the boost in height, but also because of the way they shape my legs, allowing certain muscles to show and causing men to stare. ;)

Elena - For male attraction!

There is a sort of man who admires ladies' legs. They never look in the eyes they look at the shoes. Fish net stockings and sexy shoes -- what do you need more to start your game?

Lydia - I love shoes because they always fit

I love shoes - probably more than I should. No matter how big or small I am they always fit. They also have the ability to turn a basic outfit into a 'zhoosh' outfit. They come in beautiful colours and they have the ability to lift my mood. A pair of red shoes, for example, makes me feel fabulously naughty :-)

Sharinette - Why I love shoes!

I love them because it's the shoes that make the outfit as far as I'm concerned! I always take a pair of stilettos and build an outfit completely around the shoe. They come in so many wonderful styles and colors. My second reason I love shoes is because at 5'3" it gives me added and much needed height. 3rd reason they make my legs looks killer sexy! As far as I'm concerned shoes are the ultimate accessory!

Toni - Shoes Just Make Me Happy

I don't know why, but shoes just make me happy. There's nothing like getting a new pair and wearing them out the first time. Especially if they're sexy high heels. Shoes are definitely my favorite thing to shop for

I know what you’re thinking, “Seriously?!” Humor me for a sec. So these Petal Sandals by Christian Louboutin aren’t exactly the most practical of shoes but, you have to admit they’re pretty. Overly girly yes, but if you know someone who is very Carrie Bradshaw-esque then these Christian Louboutins would be a stylish gift for her ( my birthday is coming soon.. ) ;p... Who says shoes have to be practical all the time? You have to have a little fun, eh? ;) Since these are “look at me” shoes, the best way to wear these is with a very simple outfit. The ‘petals are made of crepe satin, leather straps and a 4″ heel. You also can’t miss the signature Louboutin red sole..you know ladies i was sweating and panting while typing this...GOSH!!..gotta have them maaannnnnn...

Of course, it's totally not true that all women love shoes. But the fact remains, a lot of us really do....The truth is women are in love with shoes..

OK...i feel much better..and i can smile now..

finger-likin'-good roast chicken..

YUMM YUMM!!!....

This post dedicated to a dear friend - Bee.

well,I'm so blessed that i'm surrounded with many good-cook friends..

Bee, recipe ni dari Nita dan Farie...i use both the recipe's ingredients,
i sort of modified, plus and minus some ingredients.
that's why it's so good * puji diri sendiri pulak..

ok, enough talking,lets get started,,;p

INGREDIENTS:

Ayam - whole atau drumstick - or just any part of chicken

Rosemary - fresh or dried ( i prefer fresh - boleh beli kat cold storage - GE Mall)

Honey,

oyster sauce,

garlic,

Ginger,

Black Soy Sauce - kicap cap kipas udang yg masin.

Pepper & Salt to taste.

( sorry Bee,measurement takde,main agak2 jer ..campak2 jer the ingredients tu,insyaALLAH sedap )

METHOD :

Perap ayam dgn the ingredients at least 2 jam..i usually perap overnight.

In a roasting dish ,pour olive oil dan sedikit butter dan sear the chicken
*Sear tu maksudnya masak ayam tu atas roasting dish tu over high heat so that the chicken brown and lock the juice inside..lebih kurang 1/4 masak..baru masuk dalam oven 200 degrees C. for 30 minutes..or sampai masak.

kalau suka masuk sekali cherry tomatoes, bell pepper (capsicum) dan carrot..

DON'T forget the vital ingredient - L. O. V.E.

***shhhh...this is a secret, jgn lupa put a little bit more butter before roasting...bad bad..but what the heck...lepas tu pegi jogging...;p

VOILA!!!!...

Luminosity

All my life, friends and families have taken me to numerous art galleries; in search of nice and captivating art pieces I could display on the lonely walls of my home. But alas, I always end up stepping out of the gallery empty handed and disappointed..the paintings are either too complicated for me to understand or too expensive (those painted by the well known painters/artists )
i do love paintings, but i don't think m ready to pay too much for a piece....and so the search continues...

It was not until a nice Monday evening when I came across one Miss Seema Nadheem's paintings, and at a second, I was hooked. Her art pieces, truly stand out from the rest. It would be an understatement if I were to tell you that her art is one of it's own leagues. Words fail me when I try to describe the majestic use of materials on her pieces. Her pieces, just like any other artwork, starts off with just a blank and mundane canvas, but once she lets her creativity flow, her thoughts and feelings practically flood onto the once plain sheet of canvas and thus transform itself into a work of art. A remarkable work of art, at that.
i just love water color..the effect is soft and mysterious ...(thats my - layman's term)
my favorite is the ALLAH series.. but other series are just fabulous as well...but i'm not gonna talk about Seema's work for it's never gonna end.....may be next time, insyaALLAH.

Seema is truly an amazing person. She exudes warmth and confidence and it shows on her pieces. Her jolly character and a face that never fails to light up with a beaming smile plays a large role when painting. It is no wonder that her paintings are so breath-taking, because the minute her brush touches the canvas, you know her whole heart goes into it as well.

Now, as she faces only mere days in KL before she starts her new life in Dubai, I wish to take this opportunity to express my greatest and highest gratitude to her for giving me the opportunity to experience this colourful life that she has. It saddens me to say that I wish we had spent more time together. But I guess that's life, you never know how good you have it until it decides to go away. Seema, you've been nothing but a treasure to me. And I know I speak for all of us who were lucky enough to purchase your paintings, that you have truly made our homes what they are now; vibrant with life and you've truly coloured our souls with your never ending love and kindness. You will truly be missed, and though you may be leaving us physically, but you will forever remain in our hearts. We love you and good luck on all your future endeavors.

and on behalf of everyone ,i would like to say this "we are blessed that our paths crossed..Alhamdulilah!!"

Spinach Quiche.

Spinach Quiche.

The ingredients below are enough to make 2 thin crusts. Use one half of the dough right away and freeze the other half for your next recipe!

Ingredients for the base (pâte brisée):

250 grams of flour.
125 grams of unsalted butter.
1 egg
1 tea spoon of crème fraîche (or sour cream if you can't find it) - kat Cold Storage GE Mall ada crème fraîche.
1/2 tea spoon of salt.

method:

1. First sift the flour over a large bowl and add the salt.
2. Cut the butter in tiny cubes. Incorporate the butter to the flour with your finger tips ( You could use a pastry blender but you'd loose all the fun of making your own "pâte brisée" )..;p
3. Push the flour and butter mix on the sides of the bowl, digging a hole in the center.
4. Break the egg and pour it in the hole in middle of the bowl. Beat it a little with a fork then use a wooden spoon to incorporate the flour little by little. Add the crème fraîche or sour cream and mix again until the dough is homogeneous (sebati)
(Alternatively, or if the dough is still dry, pour a few drops of water and knead.) Use your hands to knead the dough and form two balls of the same size.
5. Place the balls of dough in plastic wraps and let them rest in the fridge for at least 1 hour before using or freezing.
6. Let the dough warm up a little before rolling it out..

kalau nak lebih senang..

1. take your car out for a drive and head to GEM (Great Eastern Mall).
go to Cold Storage Supermarket ...pegi kat frozen section and look for frozen pastry for quiche and pie...hehehe

Now for the filling - custard mix + spinach or your choice of veggie or meat.

If you use fresh spinach , sautéed in butter for 2-3 minutes .

Bring 2 cups of evaporated milk to a boil then slowly pour over 3 beaten eggs, stirring constantly.

Add the nutmeg, salt and pepper.

Then follow these steps :
  1. Roll out the crust and line a 10" tart pan (butter the pan or use baking paper). Use a fork to make a few holes in the shell to prevent it from "ballooning" while baking.
  2. Place the veggies or meat at the bottom of the pie shell and spread evenly.
  3. Pour the custard mix over the veggies or meat.
  4. Sprinkle with shredded cheese. - cheddar cheese about 2 cups or more.
  5. Bake 30 to 45 minutes in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C).

Voilà !!!!!

Jangan lupa jemput sifu datang makan quiche....;p
