wimbledon thru the eyes of an ardent fan

yana, among the sea of enthusiastic fans...

The entry i've been meaning to post about my experience at wimbledon. i know it may be a tad late and may have gone a bit stale. But i've just been conjuring up the right words to say that best fit my experience at wimbledon..

enjoy..

at a blink of an eye, time passed by me as fast as a drunk man driving home from a night at the pubs, it was that time of year again.. WIMBLEDON!

things have been so hectic for me lately that i myself nearly missed this auspicious event! we arrived at the train station(southfields) and it was of course, already decorated with green felt to give us the whole wimbledon feel! a sudden tingly rush overcame my entire being as i drew closer and closer towards the stadium.

the day i went was shared with not only close to a million doting fans, but with 2 giants, Federer and Roddick, and not to forget, Britain's pride and joy, Andy Murray. It was indeed a haunting, chilling and exciting sight to see. When thousands of people sit on the slightly humid grass in front of a large tv screen playing the day's match.

Fans from all over the world lounge and feast on sandwiches and strawberries, watching their favourite tennis players fight for victory... I was among the lucky few... "..a man is no man if not for his idols..", or maybe in my case, "a woman is no woman if not for her idols..". I had my idols, and there they were just hitting that round and small yellow ball across the court over and over and over and yes, over again. my head never tire moving from left to right.

the shopping was also superb. you could get practically anything there. from customized shirts to limited edition wimbledon rackets and tennis bags. being the closeted shopaholic that i am, i of course cleaned up the stores.... :)

the train ride home was a tiring yet fulfilled one as i leave the stadium thinking, "yes, i went to wimbledon". Needless to say, i slept with a tired smile on my face as my tired and weary body rest on my bed.
the southfields station...

lepak2 kat garden around the area, while waiting for the game to start...i was soooo overdressed kan???tgk la minah2 saleh tu.. :)
